About me
Stephanie Johnson-Cunningham is the Executive Director of Museum Hue. Under her leadership, Museum Hue launched HueArts, a research initiative that includes maps, and reports of arts entities founded and led by Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, and all People of Color across NYC's five boroughs. Stephanie has been on the forefront of developing these invaluable resources that deepens public knowledge and understanding of art, history, and culture in New York and beyond. As a former United Nations Human Right fellow, Stephanie incorporates the UN’s ratification of cultural rights to her work. Stephanie centers arts equity as an essential part of achieving civil liberties. She received the 2019 Americans for the Arts’ “American Express Emerging Leader Award” for her contributions to the field. Stephanie holds a Bachelor's degree in Art and Art History from Brooklyn College and a Masters degree in Cultural Heritage and Preservation Studies (CHAPS) from Rutgers University.
