About me
I am president and founder of the Lyndhurst Group, a leadership and project management firm serving the history, museum, and nonprofit realm. The core of my practice are the lessons of a quarter century of work in the field: strengthening community through sustainable public humanities organizations—museums, archives, libraries, historic sites, and the like. These institutions are essential to our democracy and in the marketplace of ideas. I earned a B.A. and an M.A. from the University of Central Florida and hold a Ph.D. in Public History from Middle Tennessee State University. In addition to Play All Night! Duane Allman and the Journey to Fillmore East (2022), I am author of Florida's Highwaymen: Legendary Landscapes (2006), co-editor of Zen and the Art of Local History (2014), author of An AASLH Guide to Making Public History (2017), articles and book chapters, and my blog, Long Live the ABB: Conversation from the Crossroads of Southern music, history, and culture.
